Ever since our founding we have been buying coffees from La Palma y El Tucan in Colombia and to us they act as a sort of benchmark for quality of flavour. The coffees from LPET to us are characterised by the cleanliness and transparency of flavour. The notes in their coffees are always easily discernible that we always keep coming back for more. This time is no exception.
We purchased this lot of 12.5kg in September when we visiting LPET in Bogota, Colombia. We were struck by the clear and distinct tropical fruit notes but were surprised to taste something in an LPET Geisha that we had not tasted before, the acidity quality of white wine.
This flavour profile was achieved through the utilisation of LPET proprietary processing method called Bio-Innovation where specific microorganisms and bacteria are extracted from the surroundings of the farm to increase the flavour of terroir in the coffee. The coffee is then inoculated with a refined version of the selected bacteria and microorganisms followed by a natural drying.
